7 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE Extreme Rules 2022
1. WWE Let Bray In
Weeks of breadcrumbs and clues from the viral sensation that was the White Rabbit QR codes and videos finally gave way Saturday to the return of Bray Wyatt to WWE.
It was basically an open secret to anyone who either followed the clues or read anything about it on social media that Wyatt was returning to the company at Extreme Rules (or at least it would be heavily implied at the PLE).
What we got was a really fun theatrical-style segment with WWE cycling through Bray’s different personae and sidekicks, as people portrayed the puppets from the Firefly Funhouse and The Fiend made an appearance in the crowd. The funhouse was shown as a dusty, cobweb-filled room before Wyatt burst through a door carrying his family lantern, looking closer to his original character than the mystic one we knew toward the end of his run.
The live crowd ate it up and erupted at his appearance, and it came off exceptionally well on TV too. Hopefully, they actually have a plan for him and aren’t going to drop the ball, because after all of this buildup, if they fumble the energy and enthusiasm he’s generated, then that’s on WWE.
