7 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0 (Nov 9)
1. Hayes Gets Dunne By Johnny And Dexter
Your writer will never bang the drum for more screwy finishes in the land of professional wrestling in general. However, when done right, they don't effectively take the sting out of what was a genuinely captivating match in the lead up to the controversial endgame.
That's precisely what was delivered last night as North American Champion Carmelo Hayes smashed into Pete Dunne in the main event. The two beat seven lumps of crap out of one another, with Dunne once again highlighting why he has to be considered the finest wrestler honing his craft on the brand today. Absolutely everything he pulls out of his toolkit is about as crisp as a packet of Walkers. And Hayes unleashed some of the most innovative offence you'll see this week in trying to stave off The Bruiserweight's digit destruction.
As Hayes and Trick Williams are currently embroiled in a programme with The Way's Johnny Gargano and Dexter Lumis, the latter's appearance on commentary mid-way through the bout didn't come as too much of a surprise. Yet, even Gargano's under-the-ring interference, in response to Trick's attempts to get one over on Dunne, didn't dampen a savage storm of severity between two stars who NEED to fight over the strap before long.
