7 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE Raw (13 March - Review)

DOWNS…

4. An Underwhelming Confrontation

The old adage that “less is more” doesn’t necessarily mean that you should do as little as possible and expect maximum returns.

Someone got the wrong memo with Brock Lesnar and Omos coming face-to-face Monday night. The staredown wasn’t bad – anytime fans chant, “Holy sh**!” without anything happening can’t be bad – but it wasn’t as powerful as it could have been. Brock did a nice job sizing up Omos and looking impressed (and a bit concerned) while they were in the ring together.

But when Lesnar tried to hit a German and Omos shrugged him off, all he managed to do was lock in a claw hold and shove the Beast over the top rope (on the second try – sigh). With just two more Raws until WrestleMania, it felt like this was the best chance to really sell the peril, or at least really push the spectacle of it all now and then sell the peril next week.

The staredown was fine and Brock’s reactions were good, but it just felt lacking, like it hadn’t earned the “Holy sh**!” chants yet. Call this a mild “down” for this week.
