A backstage report a couple weeks ago observed that Vince McMahon didn’t have any plans for the Emmalina character, that they just started the vignettes four months ago without any ideas or direction.

Monday, we found out that not only was that true, but they didn’t even bother to try to hide that fact. Emma walked out, announced that we were witnessing the makeover to Emmalina, and then we were witnessing the transition back to Emma.

And then she left.

Seriously, what the fresh hell? Does this column have to do the writers’ work for them? How hard would it have been for Emma to say she did this to get attention, to get eyes on her and people talking about her, that she had no intention of doing anything different other than winning the Raw Women’s Championship.

Exploiting these vignettes as an opportunity to redirect people to her would have made lemonade out of lemons, but instead, we got what we got… and we should get upset.
