7 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 16)

6. Joe As Savior?

AOP Mysterio

Samoa Joe has brought some serious authenticity to the commentary booth that we haven’t seen from a WWE color commentator since early JBL or Tazz.

But Monday, he was dropping truth bombs about Seth Rollins and AOP. He warned that the hulking duo differed from him in that he hurts people for a purpose, while the Authors of Pain do it for sport.

Later on, after Rollins laid out Rey Mysterio, Joe warned that everyone needs to rise up against this new trio and mee them with full force, calling them a “false Messiah backed up by thugs.” He yelled for everyone in the back to heed his warnings.

We know Joe’s stint on commentary is temporary while he heals from injury. Is it possible he could step out from behind the desk at some point to joint Kevin Owens to battle AOP and Rollins? It would certainly be a cool way for KO to get some backup and insert Joe into a storyline that matters.

If that’s the case, they’re doing a nice job having Joe plant seeds from the announcer’s desk. If not, he’s still killing it on the mic.
