7 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 19)

2. A Contrived 10-Man Match

Not everything can be a seamless setup for matches. But when things seem so contrived that you have to really suspend disbelief or just outright not bother trying to make sense of something, you know we’ve crossed a threshold.

While Chris Jericho was out reading his List of Jericho, Enzo Amore & Big Cass inexplicably interrupted to disagree with something Y2J said. This drew out the Shining Stars to rebut. Then New Day said they were bored so they ventured out, which drew Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. Finally, Sami Zayn showed up because he’s facing Jericho at Clash of Champions on Sunday. And naturally, a brawl broke out as Raw went to commercial.

When we came back, we had a nice and neat 10-man tag match for no reason other than they were all out there already and fighting. That’s all well and good, but dear God that was a contrived way to get to that match. Please, Raw writers, don’t make this a habit.
