It’s becoming apparent that Kevin Owens does not have a script in front of him when he’s at the commentary desk, because he clearly hit a nerve Monday night.

KO often spars with Byron Saxton when he’s doing commentary, and Raw was no different this week. But Owens lashed out at Byron when the announcer talked about how it was a fact that Jericho has bailed him out in every Universal Championship title defense. Owens shot back that it was also a fact that Saxton wasn’t good enough “to be a professional wrestler, so now you’re sitting behind the commentary table…”

That line drew somewhat shocked looks from Corey Graves and Michael Cole, with Graves smirking a little. Saxton looked incredulous. KO continued the assault throughout the match, but that one line really was a big verbal smackdown. If you’re Byron Saxton, you’re probably calling the fire department because you just got burned.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
