When Sami Zayn had to fight his way into the Royal Rumble, this was going to be a negative blasting the writers for turning Sami into a goof for asking about how to enter the Rumble and thus being humiliated and losing to Seth Rollins.

What we got instead was a clever plot twist (more on that later) and a really good TV match between Rollins and Zayn. The bout started off slowly, as a more technical display, but the entire second half was Seth and Sami hitting each other with move after move and getting numerous near-pinfalls on each other. It made for a really nerve-wracking match for fans who cheered on both men.

All of this (along with the ending) was enough to negate the negative for Zayn’s faux pas. Instead, thumbs up for a really good match.
