You really can’t give this one negative marks, as it’s one of the few groups that always gets a reaction.

Reuniting The Shield one last time to mark Roman Reigns’ return was basically a formality, with Fastlane just around the corner and plenty of time to fill. It’s not like Seth Rollins had anything else to do before his match with invisible Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

The setup for the reunion – Dean Ambrose resisting all attempts to re-form the group until a 3-on-2 beatdown changed his mind – was pretty forced, but after trying to turn Ambrose into a real villain, they couldn’t exactly just have him become a face at the snap of Reigns’ fingers.

It also felt odd to hear WWE acknowledge the reports that Ambrose is leaving WWE soon, so they needed to get the group back together before it was too late. It’s just such a foreign concept that WWE would fully admit Ambrose is leaving “for greener pastures,” as wife Renee Young said.
