We’ll have some good things to say about this later, but for now, the downside…

WWE apparently woke up and realized that their tag team division on Raw is godawful, so they decided to elevate someone over the flotsam and jetsam in the tag ranks. But rather than just put the tag team on TV demanding competition, they had to air an “angle,” in the worst sense of the word.

We got video (as everyone talked facing the unseen camera) of three tag teams firing off lame insults at Heavy Machinery. (These were lame by this writer’s 12-year-old daughter’s standards.) However, the insults were enough to bruise Otis’ frail ego, so they challenged the three teams.

But of course, the focus afterward was on Otis’ reaction and his emotions rather than a hungry tag team wanting to climb the ranks. Come on, WWE, can you do anything correctly?
