WWE has had drafts. It has had lotteries. It has had draft lotteries. But what the hell is a “Superstar Shakeup,” and how does it work?

A sizable contingent of SmackDown superstars showed up on Raw Monday night, joining the red brand’s roster. Apparently, the same thing will happen Tuesday on SmackDown, with Raw superstars joining the blue brand. But we don’t know who or how. Are there trades between the General Managers? Was this completely random? Or will we find out who was exchanged for whom?

It would be interesting or at least nice to see what kind of strategy or logic went into trading talent – the announcers did mention that the GMs had been in conversations earlier Monday – otherwise, they should have just done a lottery with wrestlers being “randomly” selected.

The whole thing just feels awkward and not very well thought out. It’ll be interesting to see how SmackDown fares tomorrow after losing one-third of its female roster and three former world champions.
