4. Tag Champs Become Cannon Fodder

That title might be a little harsh, but the message is the same: New Day has been WWE Tag Team Champions for 450 days, rapidly closing on the promotion record of 478 days.

But despite that team cohesion and unity, New Day fell to the odd trio combo of Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman on Raw Monday night. That’s not to say that a six-time world champion in Jericho, two-time champ in Rollins and gigantic Strowman should have lost, but this is more a gripe about putting the tag champs in this no-win situation in the first place.

There was no real reason to put New Day out there to lose to a rag-tag trio in a match that will be forgotten in a day. (It’s not like this will be used as fuel for an argument that New Day is wearing down as a unit or anything like that.) You just beat your 15-month tag champs with three guys who the announcers spent the match wondering if they could coexist.
