7 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Feb 4)

Ups...

7. A Loser Gimmick That Works?

Loser gimmicks are the worst. And Curt Hawkins’ loser gimmick was a dead-end deal for him. But WWE might have found a loophole by reuniting him with Zack Ryder last week.

Ryder & Hawkins lost last week and were left out of the fatal four-way match for a Raw Tag Team Championship match. But it didn’t end there. Ryder noted that he’s as much of a loser as Hawkins, with his name being spelled wrong in the chyron last week, even after 13 years.

That’s either making lemonade out of lemons, or some great forethought. Either way, it puts the two former tag champs in the same situation: as down & out superstars looking to reclaim success.

It’s not a major storyline and not even a great one, but a possibility of redemption is far better than what they were doing before this: nothing.
