So, Shane “The Hurricane” Helms is the Cruiserweight champion. He’s a goofy superhero. Okay, fair enough, people have a fondness for him.

His opponent is Jamie Noble, whose character is that of evil trailer park trash, which the commentators frequently mock him for. Sure, fine, it’s a little sad to see Vince McMahon’s psychological baggage about his upbringing manifest on-screen, but it’s a rarely seen archetype in wrestling.

Noble has a girlfriend, Nidia, who’s a crazy skank who tries to sexually assault Hurricane and commits acts such as wearing his mask as panties and handing them to Jamie. Um... gross.

And I kid you not, this actually got a video package. A well-made video package, in fact. For this crap. Go figure! And no, the match doesn’t make up for it. It starts out with promise, but it’s too slow, and the crowd is too dead for it to be anything special. The Cruiserweights of 2017 aren’t exactly living the high life, but that’s not a new development.
