7 Ups And 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Feb 1)

9. Damn Slammies

Why are the announcers still introducing the Usos as the 2015 Slammy Award-winning tag team of the year? The Slammy Awards were more than a month ago, and we€™re now into February. Moreover, the duo isn€™t even carrying the statuettes to the ring with them (thank God). Announcing someone as a Slammy Award winner for weeks and weeks after the actual awards show is something you might expect if the winner was a heel (think Owen Hart carrying his Slammies around with him). If Seth Rollins was healthy, carrying around a statuette and bragging about how he was the superstar of the year would fit his character. It also would have worked gloriously with the New Day. But the Usos? It just feels weird to have a face tag team that rarely gets mic time to be announced over and over as Slammy winners. Add a small deduction for Lillian Garcia, who flubbed the team€™s intros and called them Grammy Award winners. Maybe she was daydreaming about her recording career.
