2. Jimmy Snuka/Bruiser Brody (W/ Stan Hansen) Vs. Terry/Dory Funk - All Japan Pro Wrestling (Japan) - 1981
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aomPWRR3cxk In 1981, All Japan Pro Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling were in a war akin to the American "Attitude Era" war between the World Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling. However, imagine if during the Monday Night Wars if nobody ever switched teams until one day "Stone Cold" Steve Austin suddenly appeared on Nitro as a member of the nWo to help The Outsiders defeat the Steiner Brothers for the WCW Tag Team Titles. Well, when New Japan's Stan Hansen left New Japan for All Japan and appeared in the corner of Bruiser Brody and Jimmy Snuka prior to the finals of All Japan's prestigious Real World Tag League, that's basically what happened. Listen to when the crowd realizes that New Japan's top gaijin (American) wrestler has switched companies, and is aligned with the evil heels. Listen as well to the roar of the crowd when the Funks enter the arena. Also note how the match beautifully breaks down into mayhem, and then note the shock and awe when Stan Hansen inserts himself in the match. In every way possible, this brawl is amazing. If needing to convince a fellow wrestling fan to dig into some Japanese wrestling, this is one of the old-school classics that must be watched. Not quite "Wrestle Kingdom 9" good (for some observers) in retrospect, it does show the legends who laid the groundwork for the style that dominates both Japan and America in the present day.
