Not everything has to fit the WWE universe when it comes to what a King or Queen wins. The easiest, most basic and relatable thing would just be a bunch of cold, hard cash.

Everyone understands the concept of winning $1 million and how that could change your life. So a wrestler capturing the crown and being presented with a lump sum of cash would immediately connect with fans. Look no further than Cameron Grimes in NXT or Happy Corbin on SmackDown, both of whom have come into money in storylines recently and have had very different progressions as characters.

A wrestler winning the tournament and suddenly being filthy rich could go several different ways. S/he could be overwhelmed by the attention from people glomming onto them. Maybe they’re susceptible to grifters. Or perhaps it changes them from a humble babyface to a power-hungry heel – as the story goes, money changes everything.

It’s such a simple storyline tool, and it costs WWE nothing in reality. But it could help facilitate numerous stories, as well as serve as motivation to win the tournaments.
