7 Ways The Ultimate Warrior Was The Most Unique WWE Champion Ever

1. He Beat Hulk Hogan Clean For The WWE Title

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqP3DsOQ84I At WrestleMania 6, Ultimate Warrior did something that nobody else in wrestling did before and few did after: he beat Hulk Hogan clean. Not only that, but he did it for the WWE Title too. Hogan was the most dominant wrestler in WWE from the mid 80s into the early 1990s. He was the focus of WWE from the first WrestleMania in 1985 until that match with Warrior in Toronto's Skydome at WrestleMania 6 in 1990. Could Warrior actually beat him? We didn't know. Hogan losing was not something we were used to seeing. Warrior beating Hogan at WrestleMania 6 was proof that Vince McMahon truly believed in him as a top guy. It wasn't like Vince pushed a lot of people to beat Hogan. It just didn't happen. Fans may complain about how John Cena is booked in WWE today, but it's not even close to how strong Hogan was booked in his prime. For Warrior to go over clean the way he did is a testament to just how popular he was. There's never going to be another match like Hogan vs. Warrior at WrestleMania 6. Hogan was the most dominant WWE Champion of the WrestleMania era, Warrior was an unbeatable force as the Intercontinental Champion and their collision is one of the most famous matches ever. The Ultimate Warrior's legacy should never be in doubt. He was one of the most popular performers of all time and his lasting memory will be that win over Hogan.
