7 Ways WWE Can Salvage Sheamus

3. Taking NXT Hostage

Is this not where the Sheamus/Apollo Crews story should have gone? Sheamus was angry at the New Era superstars coming through the ranks, so took his ire out on Crews. This led to a match between the two at Money in the Bank, a match won by Crews. Sheamus gained some revenge on RAW shortly afterwards, but that is pretty much it.

What should have happened, and what could still happen, is that in order to rid the WWE of the New Era Sheamus decides to head to the source of his anger. By heading down to NXT and attempting to destroy the developmental brand, not only do you give Sheamus a big story to head but you also give the man a chance to work with a fresh group of opponents with slightly less restrictions.

I would have had him go down to NXT, win the NXT Championship from Samoa Joe (a match I would love to see) with assistance from an NXT traitor (Tye Dillinger perhaps?), and then hold the yellow brand hostage until a certain King of Strong Style knee'd his mohawk off at a major WWE PPV.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
