7 Ways WWE Could Utilise Chael Sonnen & Wanderlei Silva

Are WWE set to add some MMA steel to their roster?

Sonnen Silva Perhaps the strangest news in recent pro wrestling/MMA memory is that the WWE has reached out to a pair of fallen stars, Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva, and there are talks that the two could join the world's largest pro wrestling promotion. Sonnen and Silva have had a heated rivalry that included brawling on the set of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3, but their beef was never settled in the ring, as both endured drug scandals before a planned meeting at UFC 175 and were forced out of the fighting business: Sonnen for two years (he announced his retirement after the suspension), and Silva, who had literally run from a Nevada Athletic Commission drug test, for life. Sonnen, as he always does, landed on his feet, appearing in the grappling tournament Metamoris, working as a colour commentator for Battlegrounds MMA alongside former WWE play-by-play man Jim Ross, and landing a gig as an ESPN analyst. Silva, meanwhile, hasn't been so lucky: little has been heard from him outside of angry videos on Youtube where he criticizes the UFC over fighter pay and other issues. While Chael has already been considered a natural for the pro wrestling business thanks to an incredible amount of skill on the mic and a priceless ability to self-promote, the fact that the company reached out to Wanderlei Silva, with what he calls a "million dollar deal," is something of a shocker. That said, both men corroborate the other's story, and though the WWE has denied Sonnen will be at Wrestlemania, as had been claimed, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has added smoke to the fire by saying that Sonnen will be at the Hall of Fame ceremony and is expected to talk to WWE officials. With all that said, lets take a look at seven ways the WWE could use Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva were they to sign them.
