7 Worst General Managers In WWE History

2. Anonymous Raw GM (Hornswoggle)

From June 2010 to October 2011, Raw was run by an anonymous person that would email or text in announcements that were read by announcer Michael Cole. "May I have your attention please" is what Cole would say before reading whatever the anonymous GM sent him. It drew a lot of heat for Cole, who was turning into a heel announcer. As an aside, how come they would say Cole was reading an email on a computer screen when the camera would show a paper on the keyboard and Cole was reading that. It was so stupid. They couldn't even fake the gimmick the right way! When they revealed it was Hornswoggle at the end of the angle it was just WWE's way of making it a joke. During the entire year long run of the anonymous Raw GM, those of us that are optimistic fans were hoping that maybe there was some brilliant ending to this whole thing. Maybe it was Shane McMahon or some WWE legend. If there was a payoff then at least all the suffering would have been worth it. The moment when it was revealed to be Hornswoggle was a major letdown. It was just WWE's way of ruining a potentially good angle that could have put massive heat on an active wrestler or authority figure. It's just like when they said Horny was Vince McMahon's bastard son, which is another storyline that they completely botched. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VST8yaVokYk There were some great moments like when Chris Jericho told Michael Cole to shut up when he got an email or when Edge destroyed the laptop in a moment of insanity, but for the most part it was a terrible idea that didn't matter in the long run.
