7 Worst Matches In WWE Battleground History
6. 19-Man Battle Royal (2014)
It could be argued that there has never been a truly great Battle Royal. The Royal Rumble could be marked as an exception, but then that's a different kind of match. This point focuses squarely on those bouts during which every entrant begins in the ring at the same time, only deciding a winner when one wrestler is left standing inside.
The whole thing is a simple concept, but it rarely makes for much excitement until the last few performers remain. Often, there's so much going on that both the camera crew and announcers find it difficult to really keep up with what's happening.
Battleground 2014 featured such a blur of activity, and this Battle Royal was set to crown a new WWE Intercontinental Champion. Wade Barrett had been injured beforehand, meaning WWE felt it necessary to host such a match.
It'd be The Miz who came out on top, but it was hardly the most exciting affair. It's tough to rag on a Battle Royal, because those involved can only do so much, but this wasn't great.
