7 Worst Possible Fates In AEW
5. Be A Monster
Being a big man in AEW feels like something of a double-edged sword. Take Lance Archer in the early years of the company as an example. Coming from NJPW, Archer had an imposing look, could go in the ring, and built up a real head of steam with fans. Hell, even his entrance music was an absolute banger. Archer would then be booked to lose so consistently that all the momentum he had built up would wither away and die.
Wardlow is another great example. The slow build to Wardlow turning on MJF was glorious. Fans adored 'Mr. Mayhem's schtick of mashing his way through AEW security guards like he was Uma Thurman in 'Kill Bill'. This was only outdone by powerbombing MJF into oblivion at Double Or Nothing 2022. He was then pushed all the way to the TNT Title... before being dumped like a bad Tinder date and discarded shortly after.
There are similar stories for Big Bill and Brian Cage, who have both been given inconsistent pushes during their time in AEW, and The Beast Mortos is currently suffering the same fate. Brody King is the one example of a big man getting himself out of this prison cell, but that doesn't cancel out all of the other titans who have come before him.
