Familiar Third-Generation Name Heading To WWE Performance Center (WWE News)
Reports suggest that the Mysterio clan will gain another WWE superstar soon.
Remember that dramatic soap opera-style storyline a young Aalyah Mysterio worked with Buddy Murphy back during the closed door pandemic ("ThunderDome") days? Well, she could be set for more WWE drama. The Wrestling Observer has corroborated reports by PWInsider that Aalyah is set to sign on the dotted line with the market leader and begin training at the company's Performance Center facility soon.
Aalyah was pictured on social media holding a celebration cake emblazoned with the message: "Florida's About To Get 619'd". Posts from friends also touted comments such as: 'You're WWE's problem now. See you on TV', and: 'Florida better get ready for the next Mysterio'.
For what it's worth, the cake Mysterio was holding had little cutouts of her wearing wrestling gear, so it isn't difficult for people to put 2+2 together here. However, it's important to mention that nothing has been officially confirmed by WWE or by the Mysterio clan themselves at time of writing.
Rey had previously remarked on his daughter's pro wrestling aspirations during an appearance on a podcast hosted by Cody Rhodes. There, the masked legend said that he'd like to see Aalyah complete a full week of training and then take things from there. He admitted that, as a father, this "scares [him], but also excites [him]".
The former World Champion surely had the same thoughts on Dominik before he blossomed into a full-time member of the WWE roster. It's unclear whether or not Aalyah will take to the biz as quickly as 'Dirty Dom' did, but only time will tell.
