7 Wrestlers Who Were Blatant Knock-Offs

2. Dick Foley Incurred The Wrath Of Mick Foley

In the early 2010s, fans in the Carolinas region were excited to see that beloved WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley would be making appearances for some local promotions. This excitement turned to confusion and eventually outrage when they arrived at these shows and realized it wasn't Mick Foley, but Dick Foley - some unknown indie wrestler copying Mick's gimmick and appearance, including the Cactus Jack T-shirt, flannel overshirt, and unruly hair and beard.

And the tiny, no-name promotions this Cactus Hack appeared for weren't above taking advantage of their fans, either, advertising their shows with YouTube videos titled "FOLEY IS COMING!" when it turned out to be this Dick instead.

Enough fans were disappointed by this seventh-rate knock-off that Mick Foley himself (the real one) actually commented about it on his official Facebook page, lamenting that it was hurting his reputation in that area. Several of his followers replied that Dick had been telling people he'd been given permission to use the gimmick. Because that makes sense - what famous, highly successful performer wouldn't want somebody stealing their likeness and using a name that's only one letter different from theirs?
