7 WWE Divas That Looked Totally Out Of Place

One of them is still on the roster today.

The way that WWE utilizes their female performers is something that is always going to be scrutinized by wrestling fans. For most of the past decade, WWE recruited women by hiring models that didn't have any experience in wrestling. Sometimes they didn't know a thing about it, but they were still hired just based on their looks. Meanwhile, there are dozens of talented women in the indies that would thrive in WWE that have not been chosen for one reason for another. It's fair to say that things have improved in how WWE develops their talent in 2014. Ten years ago we saw women that were very green getting put on TV within a few months of employment simply because of how they looked. These days, a woman will have to take the same road as the guys by going to the Performance Center in Orlando and then going on WWE NXT before they make it on the big stage. Some talents take a few months to make it to the main roster, but most take at least a year if not more. When WWE hired women through model searches it worked in some cases. Trish Stratus was hired 14 years ago as a fitness model without any experience in wrestling, but she obviously turned out well since she's in the Hall of Fame. Women like Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly and Candice Michelle all had no experience in wrestling, yet they were able to develop into champions. It's a crapshoot really. If they hire 10 women, maybe five or six will work out and the others will never make it. That's just how it is. The wrestling business isn't for everybody. There have been a number of divas that have looked lost when they were on the big stage in WWE. Here's a look at seven of them including one of them that is on the roster right now.
