Towards the end of last month, Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn had a great little match on SmackDown that was touted as their first battle in World Wrestling Entertainment.

When Zayn was brought up to the main roster earlier this year, Rollins was one of the men that sat near the top of the list of 'People Sami Zayn Must Face'. The match hinted at some great things between the two in the future.

We shouldn't be surprised, of course, because long before Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn existed Tyler Black and El Generico were tearing it up outside of WWE in Ring of Honor among other places. It was in ROH that the first two met, with their first singles match coming in 2008 at ROH: Night of the Butcher II.

It was Zayn/Generico who came out on top that night, a scenario that was repeated on their two other meetings outside of WWE in 2010 and 2011. Eight years after their first meeting, their paths would cross once more in a match everyone truly wanted to see.
