7 WWE Hell In A Cell Matches You Forgot Ever Happened
4. Degeneration-X vs Legacy (Hell In A Cell, October 4, 2009)
I mean, what is even going on here? You had a Hell In A Cell PPV that had three Cell matches on one show, and the one that was picked to close out the event - over Undertaker vs CM Punk and Randy Orton vs John Cena, no less! - was DX vs Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase?! Look, we all love DX, they're brilliant, and I'll never get tired of seeing them together, but short of Legacy going over huge here and being established as the most dominant team in the company - they didn't, they got smushed - this still seems like a bizarre decision, and it's understandable that as a result, all three Cell matches on this card have been largely forgotten. It was a fun brawl, of course, and at least here the Cell's presence was used within the story the match told, with various people getting locked out at different points to stack up the odds, but on a show that had the company's two biggest contemporary stars squaring off, as well as the enticing prospect of the veteran Taker going toe-to-toe with a fast-rising CM Punk, it was an odd one to say the least.
