7 WWE Stables That Were Doomed From The Start

There have been many great stables in the history of WWE that you will hear them brag about all the time from groups like Evolution to Degeneration X and current groups like The Shield as well as the Wyatt Family. What you don't hear WWE mention are the bad groups that were supposed to be some big deal, yet when they were out there they flopped in a major way. Prior to the mid 1990s there weren't that many traditional stables in wrestling. There were things like the Heenan Family, but those weren't booked the way we see groups today. Things changed after WCW's New World Order group started in 1996. Within a year, WWE had a number of stables like the Nation of Domination, The Hart Foundation and Degeneration X that were successful, but there were several disasters too. Stables are always going to be a part of wrestling. They're a smart way to book wrestlers because they can work together for years before splitting up and having feuds that lead to easy storytelling. Every wrestling company will continue to create stables because in wrestling history always repeats itself. A lot of the time these groups flop because of the booking. If they are put together with the idea that they're going to be this dominant force and then they barely win any matches then they are going to die a slow death.
