Every now and then WWE loves to book itself an underdog run, and there is no performer better suited to such a role than Sami Zayn. The Underdog from the Underground may currently be unsure as to where he is following Braun Strowman's violence on RAW this week, but you can rest assured that Zayn will be back sooner rather than later.

Sami Zayn's rise to the top is going to be a slow one, but he is that unique type of professional wrestler who can survive the slow burn. Zayn is currently somewhat invincible in the eyes of the crowd, a man who retains his popularity regardless of whether he wins or loses. That can be a positive or a negative characteristic for a pro wrestler, and the next year or so may see Zayn experience the negative side of it.

But the positives will surely come eventually, and one such positive may well lead to a Royal Rumble win and a WrestleMania main event. When Zayn eventually wins his Royal Rumble, you can bet the house on him entering the Rumble in the earlier stages.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
