7 WWE Superstars You Forgot Headlined SummerSlam

1. The Majority Of The Nexus (SummerSlam 2010)

Remember that elimination match that R-Truth and John Morrison helped headline as the main event of SummerSlam 2010? Well, the headliners on the heel side of the ring were even more surprising than that of the babyfaces!

As previously mentioned, Team WWE consisted of John Cena, Edge, Chris Jericho, Bret Hart, Daniel Bryan, R-Truth, and John Morrison. This was prior to Daniel Bryan's days wrestling in the upper mid-card so the only true main event talent on the team at the time was Cena, Edge, Jericho and Bret.

Team WWE's opponents, however, had even less star power than Truth and Morrison.

Team Nexus was captained by Wade Barrett whom, despite what his WWE career would turn out to be, was accepted as a potential main-eventer at the time of SummerSlam '10. The rest of the squad, however, were not.

Michael Tarver, Heath Slater, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, Skip Sheffield (the future Ryback), and Darren Young all participated in the main event of WWE's second biggest show of 2010.

While some of these superstars are still competing in WWE, none of them are considered legit main event talent. Ryback came closest, and did headline several PPVs before WWE dropped the ball with him, but the majority of Team Nexus is the most unlikely talent to ever main event SummerSlam.
