7 WWE The Beast In The East Results Predictions

2. Kevin Owens Vs Finn Balor - NXT Title

The big tip on this one is that WWE are going to put the title on Balor. The logic is that it will make NXT look big league to do a chance on a major show like this. The other logical aspect is that Owens is a full timer on the main roster now and needs moving away from his NXT role. But it is all just maybe a little too predictable to book Balor to win. That might hurt the match somewhat, as true excitement is more usually linked to less predictable outcomes. With that in mind, WWE could be tempted to do a swerve and change the belt on another occasion. What is for certain, is that this will be an excellent match. Balor is famous in Japan, after carving out an impressive legacy as Prince Devitt. He'll be the big babyface. Owens will relish the heel role and will bring his very finest in-ring work, tailoring it to the specific Japanese wrestling style. Playing it safe, the winner will be Balor. The narrative of overcoming Owens and taking the title back to NXT is what makes sense. The question is, how do you book Owens to lose without hurting his momentum? An appearance by John Cena could well take care of that, in addition to putting fuel on the Cena vs Owens match for Battleground. The ref would be down and Owens would be about to club Balor with a chair. Cena would make the save and hit the AA on Owens. Balor would then hit the double foot stomp from the top rope, just as the referee recovered to make the three count. Winner and new NXT Champion: Finn Balor
