7. Dean Ambrose And Seth Rollins Headline A Major PPV - Hell In A Cell - October 26th 2014
We are only just over three weeks removed from this particular moment, but we reckon it will prove to be extremely important in terms of the future of the WWE. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are two top current talents, and their Hell In A Cell match was the blow-off to an excellent feud that began whenever Rollins betrayed his former comrades, Ambrose and Roman Reigns. These three made up The Shield, a group bent on domination of the WWE landscape, who debuted at Survivor Series in 2012 and leapt from strength to strength over their 19 months together. The Hounds Of Justice became one of the most popular acts in WWE in quite some time. Therefore, fans were incredibly invested in the rivalry between the turncoat Rollins and unstable Ambrose. They work incredibly well together, with their distinctive styles meshing perfectly, so whenever the Hell In A Cell match was announced, fans had every belief that it would be something very special. Due to the current WWE Champion Brock Lesnar being signed to a part-time contract, it has led the creative team to book several PPV's and all their weekly shows with no champion. Awkward though this proved to be, it meant that Ambrose and Rollins were handed the main event slot at the PPV, something that made perfect sense given the anticipation for the match but would have been previously unthinkable for two young guys with less than two years main roster experience. We commend WWE for recognizing a hot property whenever they saw it, and think it bodes extremely well for the future of the company. After all, John Cena and Randy Orton, the two most established main eventers of the last decade, also wrestled a Hell In A Cell match at this PPV but WWE recognized that it didn't mean as much as Ambrose and Rollins. They earned their main event slot with their excellent performances and connection with the crowd and should both be future WWE Champions sooner rather than later.
