7. Randy Savage

With the volume turned way up to 11, Randy Savage's famed intensity in and out of the squared circle never wavered, regardless of what side of the fence he was sitting on. Likewise, those famous promos were just as unique and engaging whether Randy was a good guy or a bad guy.

Throughout his career, this Hall of Famer was always the loud 'n' proud peacock who was forever strutting around to show just why he was the top dog in the business. That goes for his early days as a heel in the World Wrestling Federation, to his subsequent babyface turn and his WWF Championship win at WrestleMania IV, to his Mega Powers heel turn, and beyond.

To zero in on that Mega Powers turn, though, and Savage didn't change a thing about his character during that turn. Sure, after attacking Hulk Hogan and setting the pair on a collision course for WrestleMania V, Macho Man began to get a little more aggressive and short with Miss Elizabeth - but that was something that had been an underlying character trait for so much of Savage's babyface run.

The storyline reason that Randy Savage turned heel was that he was tired of Hogan stealing his spotlight, and was suspicious of Hogan's intentions towards Liz. That's it - a logical reason to take out a skullet-adorned meathead, particularly one who was forever trying to overshadow you.

Still, in the narrative sense this was technically Savage turning heel, largely due to the fact that he'd attacked the company's golden goose and poster boy. Regardless, Randy Savage would continue to have the exact same persona for years to come, be that as a babyface or as a heel - but to be fair to Randy, that heel run from 1989 to 1991 was phenomenal.
