Rating: 5/5

John Cena and CM Punk became the first WWE wrestlers since the mid-90s to earn a five star rating from Meltzer when they put on a clinic at Money in the Bank 2011 in Punk's home state - a feat that has still not been matched by any two since.

The bout had just about everything you could ask of a main event title match, beginning with its stellar build, in which CM Punk finally filled the the disenfranchised anti-hero spot vacated by Stone Cold 10 years earlier. Throw in a hugely partisan Illinois crowd, a frantic Vince McMahon, nervously watching from the sidelines, and - let's not overlook - some exceptional wrestling, and you've got a classic match.

A match that proved the value, not only of John Cena - whose ability between the ropes could no longer be seriously questioned thereafter - but also of CM Punk, a man sorely missed in the last three years.
