8 Big Name MMA Fighters Who Tried Out Pro Wrestling

6. King Mo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvWdJxUBtr0 Our third and final Bellator/TNA crossover star... who actually came first. Poor King Mo ended up overshadowed by the signings of Rampage Jackson and Tito Ortiz. Remember when King Mo was the guy though? Fresh out of Strikeforce, where he was light heavyweight champion, King Mo was the biggest free agent signing to date for Bellator in 2012. His two-promotion deal was lauded by Dixie Carter and Bjorn Rebney. Mo was expected to do big, big things. However, things didn't go according to plan. On the MMA side, after some initial success in Bellator, he would compile three losses - against Emanuel Newton twice, and then Rampage Jackson. Where he goes from the Jackson loss remains to be seen. In TNA, well - he wound up being a guest ref for a match before being sent down to Ohio Valley Wrestling, now TNA's developmental territory (it was once WWE's territory) for some training. This is actually a good call - just because a guy can fight doesn't mean he can wrestle. Mo made his in-ring debut in 2013, and by summer 2013 had returned to TNA TV as a heel aligning with Dixie Carter... but not much else has come of his pro-wrestling career. The idea that King Mo would be a huge crossover star have long since been forgotten.
