8 Biggest Turncoats In WWE History
3. The Bella Twins
Being the faces of WWE's reality TV output, the Bellas have been two of the most prominent women in the company. As such, it really spoke to how little WWE cared for Divas given how shoddy the Bellas’ characterizations were, especially when it came to their morality.
Written with a distinct “Oh, who cares?” philosophy, Brie and Nikki just sort of drifted between face and heel whenever it was convenient. Usually, if Total Divas was about to air a new season, that meant the Bellas were to be portrayed as heroic, since after all, it’s prudent to have your stars be, y’know, likeable. Otherwise, however, the Bellas were portrayed as snotty heels, which fit their strengths as performers. However, the way they would transition from heel to face and vice versa was so wishy-washy and nonsensical. Despite being the top heels in the Divas division for months in 2015, the two were randomly the faces in a month-long feud with Naomi and Tamina, and by June, Brie and Nikki were once again the top heels. What sense does that make?
Even more confusing was Nikki and Brie’s relationship. Sometimes, they managed rival wrestlers, oftentimes they were a tag team, and other times, they were feuding over very silly things. In 2014, Nikki turned on Brie and told her that she had wished Brie died in the womb... and then, by the end of the year, they were a tightly-functioning unit with zero explanation of why Brie forgave Nikki. Love conquers all, I guess.
