8 Booking Steps For Goldberg's WWE Return

1. Put Owens Over

In the end, Goldberg’s rumoured comeback has just one acceptable outcome: putting his opponent over.

Bill isn’t going to stick around for long. At best, we could have another scenario like last year, where he makes a number of fleeting appearances over a six-month spell. Given his comments on how he felt during his previous comeback, however, we’re probably looking at a shorter schedule before he eventually drifts back into retirement.

If his previous run wasn’t his last, this one likely will be. There’s no point in him going over on his way out the door as it’ll represent a huge missed opportunity to transfer his heat and momentum to his opponent, and thus, Owens should defeat him cleanly and decisively.

While there’s no guarantee their match would be as bruising as Goldberg’s fight with Brock, KO is one of the best brawlers in the company, and more than up to the task of drawing a fun 5-6 sprint from his ageing foe. With WrestleMania 33 as a blueprint, they can keep the crowd on their toes with a short, heated war, culminating in ‘The Prizefighter’ going over, and avenging the damage done back at Fastlane.
