8 Burning Questions For WWE Elimination Chamber 2018

How will WrestleMania picture look afterward?

Time to buckle up as WWE’s never-ending Road to WrestleMania hype makes its first stop with the Elimination Chamber PPV.

While the Royal Rumble really kicks off Mania season and ideally sets several main storylines into motion, the two PPVs between Rumble and Mania can often help solidify those angles, or in the case of years when planning is sparse, actually set up the main matches.

This year, the Raw-exclusive PPV is likely to give us the inevitable main event match for WrestleMania, as the men’s Elimination Chamber match will determine who will face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. Even with a super-sized contest with seven men, the outcome certainly seems telegraphed.

The women’s chamber match will not only make history as the first of its kind, it will determine who will be Raw Women’s Champion heading into Mania. Presumably, Asuka will face that woman – though as the Rumble winner she could choose to jump to SmackDown.

This PPV pretty much is being sold on the two chamber matches and the contract signing for Ronda Rousey. Everything else was thrown together in the two weeks before the event. That doesn’t mean it can’t be good, but it doesn’t make you exude confidence.

With that said, let’s take a look at some of the big questions out there as we get ready for the Elimination Chamber…

8. Can Hardy And Wyatt Deliver?

When Matt Hardy finally transitioned from a Hardy Boy to a broken man, fans rejoiced at the prospect of seeing a unique character being brought to WWE. When the Woken Matt began feuding with Bray Wyatt, this column praised it as a perfect first opponent and the ideal feud for each other.

Several months later, and the wind has effectively been let out of the sails.

Wyatt and Hardy have spent weeks laughing at each other, attacking each other, laughing at each other, giving rambling, overlapped promos, and laughing at each other. There’s been little ingenuity to this feud, and little else either.

The only thing left is to see if they actually deliver a real wrestling match or give us a schmozz that sets up a WrestleMania rematch to conclude this bizarre feud.
