8 Horrible WWE Returns That Absolutely Nobody Asked For

2. Kevin Nash (2011)

With apologies to WhatCulture's self-confessed Vinnie Vegas Stan Michael Hamflett, who'd pop harder than an over-inflated balloon if a 59-year-old Kevin Nash were to re-emerge in WWE next week, the sentimental office favourite had no business gate-crashing the main event scene in 2011.

That year's Royal Rumble appearance was fine. As Diesel, Nash got a surprisingly great pop, providing a rare highlight in an otherwise bang average over-the-top battle royal. It was the right way to utilise an over-the-hill veteran and his shiny new Legends deal, but his involvement later in the year stunk.

A number of factors ultimately contributed to the Summer Of Punk's demise, but the storyline ended with Nash texting itself. It was the lamest payoff to a white-hot angle ever, and after a quick-fire stream of botched booking decisions, it created an equally sh*tty bout between 'Big Sexy' and Triple H at TLC.

Nash remained semi-active in WWE, appearing occasionally on NXT. He has since participated in a number of D-Generation X/New World Order puff reunions, but never anything as unwatchable as the tedious hijacking that was his last in-ring run.
