As far as an impromptu matchup, this was pretty much expected, but since it didn’t show up on the WrestleMania card, it merits placement here.

For several weeks before WrestleMania 34, John Cena repeatedly called out the Undertaker, challenging him to a match at Mania. Cena upped his criticism of the Deadman in an attempt to goad him into responding. It failed, so Cena went to Mania “as a fan,” and he enjoyed the kickoff show and first couple matches from the crowd.

Then he raced to the back after receiving word that Taker was there. Cena finally got his wish, but Undertaker was not in the mood to have a scientific classic Clash of the Titans.

Taker squashed Cena in less than three minutes, bolstering his Mania record to 24-2 and giving fans a really cool entrance. It wasn’t much as a dream match between two legendary wrestlers, but it was something.
