8 Indie Wrestlers Who Could Be The Next Daniel Bryan

8. Ricochet

In many ways, Ricochet is the anti-Daniel Bryan. Bryan was a weird looking dude who didn't exactly look like a professional wrestler in a world where aesthetics counts for a lot. He worked hard, maximised his potential and made lemonade from lemons. He wasn't supposed to succeed, but he did. On the other side of the table we have Ricochet, or Prince Puma as he is known to Lucha Underground fans. He looks like a professional wrestler, and seems to pick up some of the most difficult skills with ease. Wrestling seems to come naturally to him. Not many performers in the modern age make this hard art look so easy. He was given lemonade, and he is making incredible lemonade. Still, Ricochet and Daniel Bryan share many attributes, not least of all a warm likability that endears them to the average fan. Despite his natural ability Ricochet comes across as a truly humble guy, and just because he is blessed it hasn't stopped him from working his socks off. Both men strive (or strove, in Bryan's case) to improve at every possible step. It seems inconceivable that Ricochet will stay out of the clutches of WWE forever, and when he finally makes his way to the company they will have a true star in the making.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
