8 Last-Minute WWE Backlash 2018 Rumours You Need To Know

A lunatic infringement?

It's been literally a week since the Greatest Royal Rumble, which means our wrestling palates are well and truly cleansed of that propaganda claptrap, and we're all raring to go once again with another probably overlong supershow this Sunday. Which is handy, as there happens to be one. Yup, no lie.

Backlash has been given a somewhat boisterous billing as the first co-branded PPV since, er, last Friday, though the lacklustre build hasn't exactly stimulated the salivary glands. Thankfully, there are a few choice cuts on the menu to get the juices flowing - and as ever, one or two flavoursome internet rumours to add a touch of spice to proceedings.

Could a crocked vigilante make a long-awaited comeback (hint: it's not Sting)? Will the pull of the dark side finally prove too much for one member of the Raw roster? And can Big Cass royally p*ss off just about every single person watching? The boys and girls in cyberspace certainly think so - alongside a handful of other intriguing rumours you're gonna want to know ahead of New Jersey's big show.

8. Bayley Turns Heel

A heel turn for Bayley has apparently been in the offing since antiquity, with not a single show going by without reports that WWE are finally set to pull the trigger. One hates to break with tradition: word is that the company have once again fished out that increasingly dusty gun, and may finally shoot their load, as it were, this Sunday.

It makes a whole barge loada' sense. Bayley's current character is moribund, and there has to be some reason why a bout between her and Ruby Riott has been randomly added to the card at the eleventh hour. The Hugger watched on unflinchingly this past Monday as perennial rival Sasha was ganged up on by Riott's cronies. Expect Banks to get involved, and some sh*t to go down. Hold me.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
