8 MAJOR Changes Coming To WWE Network

1. Independent Promotions At Your Fingertips

This is what we're all going to be talking about, and rightly so. For 14.99 per month the WWE Network promises to provide access to 'independent wrestling content such as TNA & Ring of Honor', and whilst this isn't entirely clear it is still rather monumental. Dave Meltzer has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that a number of other promotions could also find themselves moving on to the WWE Network, including EVOLVE and the UK's own PROGRESS.

WWE has a huge amount of wrestlers under contract who once performed for TNA or Ring Honor, and the purchase of those two respective video libraries will surely lead to some incredible WWE Network content. Who wouldn't jump at the chance to see a 'Best of AJ Styles' collection, featuring matches from all three companies? The video packages for newer arrivals would be ramped up too, showing the more casual audience just why men like Samoa Joe and Bobby Roode are so revered.

Of course, many will state that this is horrible news for independent wrestling, that it is just WWE stretching their dark shadow over the wrestling world once more. At the same time companies such as New Japan Pro Wrestling and PWG aren't going to be involved, and there is nothing to suggest they will struggle because WWE can show Shark Boy vs. David Young.

If the rumours are to be believed, the WWE Network is a cup of coffee away from some major, major changes. What do you think? Which package would you choose and why would it be the 14.99 one? Does this mean the end for indy wrestling? Does it mean D-Ray 3000 can make his great return to wrestling?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
