8 Matches That Should Have Headlined WrestleMania (If WWE Had Listened To The Fans)

7. The Undertaker Vs. Kurt Angle - WrestleMania 22

WrestleMania 22 was headlined by John Cena and Triple H's first WrestleMania meeting, and is seen by some as the moment it became clear that Cena was truly hated by large swathes of WWE's fanbase. Elsewhere on the show Rey Mysterio won the World Heavyweight Championship in emotional fashion, outlasting Kurt Angle and Randy Orton in a decent triple threat match.

The reaction to Mysterio's win and the main event itself wasn't quite the shower of euphoria that WWE wanted. The reason was that Mysterio's moment had already been cheapened by Orton's addition into the match, and the fans were well and truly tired of Cena already. The match that the vocal fans wanted to see headline the show had actually happened a month earlier.

The main event of No Way Out in 2006 saw Kurt Angle defend the World Heavyweight Championship against The Undertaker in an all-time classic. Angle has mentioned in interviews since that he was pencilled in to end The Undertaker's Streak around this time, and whilst the fans may not have been overjoyed at that, it was still clear that Angle/'Taker was the match they wanted.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
