8 MMA Fighters Who Failed In Pro Wrestling

6. King Mo

Cain Velasquez Brock Lesnar
Impact Wrestling

When Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal first stepped through the doors at Ohio Valley Wrestling, he had all the potential to be a superstar in the squared circle. Having just graduated college, Mo was rated as one of the best amateur wrestlers in the country with his size, skill, and athleticism proving too much for his contemporaries on the mat en route to becoming an NCAA Division 1 All American.

However, rather than following in the footsteps of Brock Lesnar, Mo would leave OVW after just a week, and ultimately turn down WWE's contract offer, instead opting to pursue a career in MMA.

Despite establishing himself as one of the best fighters in the world outside of the UFC, Mo still harboured aspirations of becoming a pro wrestler and signed with TNA in 2012. Unfortunately for those hoping for another Lesnar or Bobby Lashley, Lawal prioritised MMA throughout his career in the IMPACT Zone leading to him failing to fulfil his massive potential as a sports entertainer.
