8 MMA Fighters You Didn't Realise Are Still Competing

7. Rampage Jackson (38-14)

Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson is a bonafide MMA legend.

All the way back to his debut in 1999, Jackson has excited fans the world over with his ridiculous knockout power, propensity for executing high-impact wrestling techniques, and charisma in spades.

After finding consistent success in Japanese promotion PRIDE, Rampage would make his highly-anticipated debut in the UFC in 2007. Unlike many of his contemporaries making the transition to mixed martial arts in the west, Rampage would find instant success in the UFC, knocking out the legendary Chuck Lidell in under two minutes to capture the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in just his second fight in the organisation.

Though he would later drop the belt in a major upset against Forrest Griffin, Rampage would continue his success in the UFC, even exacting revenge over multi-time PRIDE foe Wanderlei Silva with a highlight-reel KO.

Rampage concluded his initial UFC stint in 2013 after posting a 7-5 record in the organisation before making the move to Bellator. Rampage would again find his groove in there but would find himself embroiled in a contractual dispute between Bellator and the UFC in 2015 that saw him make one final appearance in the company with a win over Fabio Maldonado at UFC 186.

Since then Rampage has continued his fighting career back in Bellator but hasn't looked like the fighter who was once considered one of the best competitors in the sport. Rampage has been accused of being apathetic towards training in recent years, and this could be clearly seen in his last fight where an out-of-shape Jackson was defeated by Fedor Emelianenko via first-round TKO in December.
