8 MMA Fighters You Didn't Realise Are Still Competing

3. Carlos Condit (30-13)

Carlos Condit has enjoyed a storied career during his time in MMA. The Albuquerque native made his professional debut way back in 2002, and in the years that followed created a legacy at 170lbs that will likely one day see him inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

Having competed in Pancrase and the WEC before his UFC debut, Condit was no stranger to elite competition prior to his first fight in the big show. Condit's elite-level kickboxing saw him collect a series of knockouts as he surged towards his first shot at UFC gold back in 2012. After an injury to Georges St-Pierre, Condit fought Nick Diaz at UFC 143 with the Natural Born Killer adopting a more cautious striking style to defeat Diaz and be crowned UFC Interim Welterweight Champion.

In his unification bout with GSP Condit would ultimately fall short of dethroning the long-reigning champion, but came within inches of snatching the title away after dropping St-Pierre with a beautiful head kick in the fourth round.

Condit would again get a chance to capture the welterweight belt when he fought Robbie Lawler at UFC 195, but again he would fall short by the finest of margins in a controversial judges decision.

Since then, Condit has recorded a further four consecutive defeats, all against ranked fighters with his most recent bout seeing him submitted by Michael Chiesa in December of 2018. Condit hasn't announced plans to retire however and was scheduled to fight Micky Gall in December of last year before Gall was forced to withdraw due to injury.
