8 MMA Fighters You Didn't Realise Are Still Competing
2. Andrei Arlovski (28-19)
When Andrei Arlovski made his UFC debut, WCW was still an active professional wrestling promotion, Bill Clinton was the President of the USA, and UFC featherweight prospect Chase Hooper had recently turned 2 years old. To underline that point, no active UFC fighter made his debut in the company before Arlovski.
In that time, the Belarusian fighter has accrued an impressive legacy across several different promotions. After a stint holding the UFC Heavyweight Championship, Arlovski would eventually split with the UFC in 2008 to join the Donald Trump-backed Affliction MMA promotion. Arlovski would go on to face then-consensus pound for pound number 1 Fedor Emelianenko and despite some early success would fall victim to one of the most violent KO's in MMA history.
Despite falling to a further three defeats after his bout with Fedor, Arlovski would return to form, eventually resigning with the UFC in 2014. Since then he has remained highly active competing 17 times during his sophomore stint, acting as a gatekeeper to the elite levels of the heavyweight division.
Arlovski's last fight saw him KO'd less than 30 seconds into the first round in a fight against contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC 244.
