8 Modern Wrestlers Who Would Succeed In Any Era

6. The Technician: Kurt Angle

Although a bit of a harder sell for '80s and '90s WWF, given the cartoonishness that ran rampant, Angle's Olympic pedigree and natural wrestling instincts would make him a sure thing anywhere from the Carolinas to the Midwest.

Although Daniel Bryan or Zack Sabre Jr. are better known for their technical work, both would've been too small or too slight to thrive in certain territories. But Angle, particularly his 'Wrestling Machine' persona, would get over anywhere. His legitimate athletic background would be a huge plus to promoters like Verne Gagne and Bill Watts.

Sure, the Ankle Lock would most likely be out -- watching a ref raise someone's hand three times while Angle cranked on their ankle is a ridiculous image -- but the Angle Slam or a series of German suplexes would be enough to secure victory for Kurt all over the US.
